  • 1/3 cup Sugar
  • 1/3 cup Jaggary
  • 4-5 tbsp Sunny Sun Lite Oil
  • 1/2 cup Chana dal (Bengal gram)
  • 2 cups Maida
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • ¼ tsp Cardamom and nutmeg powder
  • Luke warm water as required


  • Rinse, and soak Chana Dal for 1 to 2 hours. In pressure cooker, add the soaked dal with water and cook it up to 3 whistles. Then strain the dal of any residual water.
  • Heat a pan or wok and add the dal, sugar and jaggary.
  • Keeping the fame at medium or low, give the mixture a good mix. Now add Cardamom and nutmeg powder to the mixture and mix it well. Ensure that it doesn’t sticks to the base of the pan. Now turn off the flame.
  • In a separate bowl, add Maida, 3 tbsp of Sunny Sun Lite oil and salt. Now with the help of luke warm water knead a soft dough of the mixture.
  • Take a small amount of dough and with the help of Sunny Sun Lite oil, flatten it on the flat board.
  • Now take the same amount of the stuffing as that of your dough.
  • Put the stuffing at the centre of flattened dough. Lift the dough carefully from all the sides and close the stuffing at the top.
  • Now we’ll press the stuffed dough very gently from the from the top in order to ensure that stuffing is speared across the entire area of dough.
  • 1. We’ll once again flatten the dough on a flat board with the help of Oil.
  • In a pan Heat Sunny Sun Lite Oil and cook the flattened dough on it. Cook both the sides evenly using Sunny Sun Lite Oil.
  • Add more oil if required.
